Dialogue Between Geometries
The project concerned a plot of about 2,300 square meters located along Via Alcide De Gasperi.
This site, due to its morphological and location advantages, is highly strategic, bordering two school complexes and is located near a recently built commercial hub. The building structure is linear, consisting of three adjacent volumes. The first two volumes, from the west side, host commercial activities at ground level, and residential apartments on the upper floors.
This configuration allows a clear separation between commercial and residential functions, ensuring both the vitality of the plaza and residential tranquility. The third volume, located further east, extends the shopping area to the first floor. This choice addresses to the need for more commercial space, while offering a variety of services to residents and visitors.
The interplay of architectural volumes and the differentiated use of materials immediately conveys the building’s diverse functions to observers. The facades of the commercial floors feature extensive glazing, enhancing the visibility of internal activities and creating a visual connection with the exterior. The integration of volumes is designed to ensure overall aesthetic harmony, while maintaining a functional distinction between the building’s various components. Communal spaces, such as entrances and corridors, are designed to facilitate circulation and interaction, contributing to a dynamic and livable environment.
Materials selection was guided by sustainability and durability criteria, with a strong emphasis on energy efficiency and living comfort.
